What our customers say:

Popped in to look at the whiskies after a walk up Simon's Seat. I was just after some miniature whiskies that I have yet to try, they have loads! And my mate was deciding between two whiskies, and after a taste, decided what he wanted. Place was heaving which is always good to see, but plenty of helpful staff around if you needed them. And obviously they have so much more than whisky, the gin room was stocked to the rafters! Cant wait to come back in the New Year and pick up a few more miniatures and maybe another bottle of something!"
Although primarily a whisky fan, I also buy wine and armagnac here and find both the range and value excellent. If I lived in Skipton I would find it necessary to attend their legendary whisky tastings. The staff are top notch and know their drinks. every town should have one!
Always helpful, cheerful, full of information when required, and ready to navigate the customer through their incredible selection of wines and spirits, especially whiskeys! There's always something suitable, whether its a for special event or a quiet night in, and if you're splashing out you can do so in confidence. It's a joy to shop here.
Possibly the best wine (and whisky...and gin) shop in the world. Competitive prices, huge stock, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable staff.
"A must visit place for wine, gins and especially whisky lovers. The range of whiskies even to a connoisseur is excellent.".
Wright wine is a little gem of a shop. With knowledgable staff who can help you with your selection of wines and spirits. They have a great range of wines and spirits and their whiskey room is a place of wonder and their gin room is equally spectacular.
Very well stocked and helpful staff and cheaper than some of the larger online retailers. What's to lose!?
Excellent selection of wines and spirits with pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good value too.
What a truly wonderful place this is, the shop is a dream for anyone who likes Wine, Whisky, Gin or virtually any other spirit you care to mention. The array of product on offer is extensive and if you can get someone else to drive you there you can even able to taste a number of the whisky’s before you buy. Although you could probably get most of the produce online, what that will not offer you is the extensive knowledge that goes to back up your selection, whether it be something expensive or if your after something more affordable, the staff will do everything to steer you in the direction of a product you will enjoy, the service is incredibly friendly and makes you want to return, Julian and his staff always go the extra mile and I honestly doubt you will meet a more knowledgeable person when it comes to his product than Julian. So if you want a Le Pin or an affordable bottle of new world wine that you can enjoy on a weekend the Wright Wine Company will be able to help. Unpretentious, helpful and a thoughtful service, it’s not surprising this place supplies both top end restaurants and the man in street with equal attention.
Shelves full of a huge selection of Malt Whisky need a well informed member of staff. The Wright Wine Co. has both.
Amazing shop. You could lose yourself inside this shop for hours. The range variety quality and quantity are second to none. I would go further than recommend and say it is a 'must visit' high end alcohol outlet.
I’ve been a customer for nearly 10 years and would never go anywhere else. It has everything you need from an independent wine shop and probably the most impressive selection of gins and whisky in the north. The staff are always on hand if needed but leave you to browse and always have good recommendations whatever your budget or tipple.
I find Julian and Katie and the others a pleasure to deal with and they characterise what all independent shops should be. I feel lucky to be so close to a fantastic place.
Very friendly, cheerful and helpful staff. The shop is an interesting warren of twists and turns lined on each side with hundreds of bottles of all kinds of wines and spirits.
Upon arrival I was immediately greeted by a member of the team who was attentive, knowledgable and enthusiastic despite the busy festive period....be warned, everyone here is very helpful and informative (and they helped me carry my wine up the hill to the parking spot!). I found things wholly unpretentious and the broad price range will cater to all levels of wine enthusiast. Would thoroughly recommend and will be back to explore the extensive range of gin and whisky.
